(Video Interviews) Caitlin Leverenz and Ella Eastin Talk 200 IM Prelims

Caitlin Leverenz and Ella Eastin qualified second and fourth, respectively for the semifinals of the 200 IM with strong swims Tuesday morning. Both are looking to rebound from disappointing efforts in the 400 IM Sunday when Leverenz wound up finishing fifth and Eastin missed out on the final, finishing ninth.

Leverenz discussed her approach and strategy for the 200 IM has changed over the past several years, particularly as she has made big strides with her butterfly. The reigning Olympic bronze medalist in the event also recalled some moments first two days of the meet and her reaction as athletes such as Chase KaliszJay LitherlandKelsi Worrell and Leah Smith each made their first Olympic team.

Eastin also explained how she bounced back from a rough first day of the meet and why she thinks the 200 IM has more promise for her at this meet than did the 400 IM. Eastin the physical and mental keys to the rebound effort and her approach for getting through this evening’s semifinals.
