After dropping well over one second this morning during prelims, Auburn’s Zach Apple finished fourth in the men’s 100 free at the 2017 Phillips 66 National Championships. He touched the wall in 48.23 to make his first National team and will represent Team USA next month in Budapest.
He talks about his determination to make the World Championships team and how he was confident in his race strategy. He also discusses how there was more pressure than normal since he was the top seed in his first National final, but he knew he had it in him to qualify.
