Madisyn Cox was not at full strength when she swam the 400 IM at U.S. Nationals over the summer, so she hoped for a best time when she swam the event Friday night at the TYR Pro Swim Series meet in Atlanta. Cox got that, finishing first in 4:37.94.

Cox explained afterwards what she was hoping for in swimming the event tonight and how she uses the 400 IM to prepare for the 200 IM and vice versa. Cox also discussed what it was like having Lia Neal training with her in Austin, Texas, over the past few weeks, and she previewed her Texas Longhorns heading to the NCAA championships.
