Indiana’s Gabriel Fantoni (45.59), Ian Finnerty (50.33), Vini Lanza (44.53) and Blake Pieroni (40.62) combined to win the men’s 4×100 medley relay in 3:01.07 on day two of the 2018 NCAA Championships. This marked the Hoosier’s first-ever relay win under Ray Looze and his coaching staff.

Looze, who is in his 16th year at the helm of the men’s program, said it’s nice for his team to be competitive as he has shaped his program to form an Olympic culture. He said his team will continue to work hard this weekend for points.

He also highlighted Pieroni, who broke the NCAA and American record in the 200 free yesterday, saying he is the personification of grit and has helped transform the culture of Indiana’s team.
