Rising Stanford sophomore True Sweetser won the men’s 1500 free in 14:59.73 at the 2017 Phillips 66 National Championships. This is his first time breaking 15 minutes and his first time qualifying for a National team as he’ll represent Team USA in Budapest next month.

He talks about his excitement for the future and how he was determined to give his best effort, citing his training and confidence behind the blocks. Sweetser also notes that he wasn’t pleased with his performance at NCAAs but knew he could have a strong National meet.
