Versatile Ainsley Everett of The Woodlands Swim Team Verbally Commits to Richmond

Ainsley Everett Richmond

NEW COMMIT: The Woodlands, Texas native Ainsley Everett has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Richmond and will join the Spiders at the start of the 2020-21 season.

A versatile swimmer, Everett does her club swimming with The Woodlands Swim Team under coach Erik Wiken and most recently earned gold in the 200m fly and silver in both the 100m fly and 400m IM at Southern Zone Seniors. Last winter, she raced three events at Juniors West and earned five best times at College Station Speedo Sectionals.

Also competing for The Woodlands High School, Everett is a three-time Texas UIL 6A State Championship finalist. She placed ninth in the 100 fly and 10th in the 200 IM as a junior after finishing 12th in the latter during her sophomore season.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Richmond! Thank you so much to my family, friends, and coaches for helping me along this journey! When I visited Richmond I instantly loved it, and I am so excited to be a part of such an amazing team! Go Spiders!!!”

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 25.04
  • 100 free – 52.43
  • 200 free – 1:54.57
  • 100 breast – 1:07.51
  • 200 breast – 2:21.81
  • 100 fly – 56.51
  • 200 IM – 2:03.89
  • 400 IM – 4:24.13

Everett will make a big impact when she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2024 as her best times already rank near the top of Richmond’s lineup and she could find herself in a number of different events given her versatility. Even with a year of club swimming still to go, her best time in the 200 IM would’ve scored in the A-final at the 2019 A-10 Championships.
