NEW COMMIT: The University of Vermont has received their first verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Easton, Pa. native Anna Shoudt.

She will arrive in Burlington as a member of the Catamounts’ class of 2025.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m super excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Vermont!! I wouldn’t be here without my family, friends, and coaches who have supported me throughout the years. Go Cats!!!”

A talented sprint freestyler, Shoudt does her club swimming with Blue Eagle Swim Team. At the Emmaus Invitational in November, she earned two best times and recorded five top-8 finishes.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 24.84
  • 100 free – 54.45

Also competing for Moravian Academy, Shoudt is a six-time PIAA District XI AA Championship finalist. She won the 100 free and was the runner-up in the 50 free as a junior while taking fourth and third, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.

When she arrives on campus next year, she will add her talents to a sprint freestyle training group that will be led by Cailin Campbell, Mina Poppas, and Sarah Doherty. Under head coach Gerry Cournoyer, Vermont finished third overall in the team standings at the 2020 America East Championships.
