USA Swimming Sectionals, Gresham: Meet Wraps Up
GRESHAM, Oregon, July 23. THE USA Swimming Sectionals held in Gresham came to an end with swims spanning from 50 to 1500 meters on the final day of long course meter action.
Tri-City Channel's Natilee Ruiz won the women's 200 IM in 2:19.08, while Lake Oswego's Grace Carlson, 15, finished second in 2:19.87. Issaquah's Kathryn Kinnear, 16, finished third in 2:20.29. Wyoming's Brandon Fischer pocketed the men's 200 IM title in 2:06.47. DU Hilltopper Clayton Myers finished second in 2:06.85, while Colorado Springs' Bryan Bonack touched third in 2:08.66.
Sun Devils' Alex Aitchison, 14, won the women's 1500 free in 17:07.05, while DU Hilltopper Paige Newell earned second in 17:14.34. Corvallis' Jessica James placed third in 17:15.64. DU Hilltopper Ben Holston claimed the men's 1500 free in 15:55.77, while Tualatin Hills' Cameron Stitt, 16, touched second in 16:01.96. Sun Devils' Josh Olszewski, 16, snagged third in 16:13.83.
Foothills' Shara Stafford threw down a 25.97 to win the women's 50 free. Boise's Stephanie North (26.04) and Amber Boucher (26.34) completed the top three. Wyoming's Jeffrey Frey won the men's 50 free in 23.78. Sun Devils' Herbie Behm took second in 23.83, while Superior's Aaron Ghiglieri completed the top three in 23.91.
