NEW COMMIT: Luke Landis of Upper Arlington, Ohio, has announced his commitment to Fresno Pacific University and will join the Sunbirds this upcoming fall.

Landis swim year-round with Upper Arlington Swim Club and recently achieved a trio of best times at the MAKO Senior Circuit where he placed fourth in the mile, 200 back and 200 fly. He raced to sixth in the 500 free at the Ned Reeb Invite in December and capped off a successful long course season with 100% lifetime bests at the PHST Senior Meet last summer. Also competing for Upper Arlington High School, Landis competed in the 500 free during both his sophomore and junior seasons at the Ohio State Championships.

He told Swimming World:

“So happy to sign and officially be a part of the Sunbird Family @fpuswimanddive !! Thanks to everyone who’s been a part of this journey with me! I cannot thank you enough! Go Sunbirds”

His best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:45.72
  • 500 free – 4:36.86
  • 1650 free – 16:00.93
  • 200 fly – 1:53.32

Landis will make an immediate impact when he arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2023 as his best times already rank near the top of Fresno Pacific’s lineup. His best time in the 200 fly would’ve won the 2019 Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Championship title and he would’ve scored in the A-final of the 200 free, 500 free and placed top-2 in the mile.
