NEW COMMIT: The University of Tennessee has added another verbal commitment for the fall of 2020 from Columbus, Ohio native Jordan Aurnou-Rhees.

Aurnou-Rhees swims year-round with the Ohio State Swim Club and owns the Winter Nationals cut in the 100 fly with the Winter Juniors standard in the 200 IM. She most recently competed at Indianapolis Speedo Sectionals where her highest finish was a 12th-place showing in the 100 fly after racing a trio of events at Juniors East in December. This past summer, she raced to seventh place in the 100m fly at Spire Speedo Sectionals.

Also competing for Columbus School for Girls, Aurnou-Rhees is a six-time Ohio State Championship finalist. She won the 100 fly and was the 200 IM runner-up as a junior after earning gold and bronze, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season. She has also earned both NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for her efforts.

She told Swimming World:

“I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment  to continue my academic and athletic career for the University of Tennessee!! Feeling very blessed and grateful for all the love and support I have received from my family, my coaches, and my teammates! Can’t wait to call this place my home starting in fall of 2020 :)) #GOVOLS #ladyvols #rockytop”

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 54.47
  • 200 fly – 2:03.03
  • 200 IM – 2:01.96
  • 100 breast – 1:05.20
  • 50 free – 23.85
  • 100 free – 51.27

Although she’s just outside of scoring range at the SEC Championships, Aurnou-Rhees has continuously made improvements each season with well over a year to go before arriving in Knoxville and her versatility will add valuable depth to the Vols’ lineup.
