NEW COMMIT: Lincoln, Neb. native Berkeley Livingston has announced her verbal commitment to stay in-state and swim for the Huskers as a member of the class of 2023.

Livingston swims year-round with Lincoln Select Swimming where she has earned Winter Junior cuts in a trio of events. She posted a pair of best times at NCSAs and three lifetime bests at Jenks Speedo Sectionals to conclude a fast long course season. She was a five-time champion at the Midwestern SCY Championships and competed at Junior Nationals West last December.

Also representing Lincoln Southwest High School, Livingston is a two-time NSAA State Champion in the 500 free. The NISCA All-American won the gold in the event (4:55.37) as a junior and led off both the winning 4×100 free and 4×50 medley relays. During her sophomore campaign, she won the 500 free (5:06.00) and was the runner-up in the 200 IM (2:05.11).

She told Swimming World:

“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Nebraska to continue my education and swimming career. I chose Nebraska because of the amazing team and beautiful campus. I’d like to thank everyone who helped to make this opportunity possible. Go Big Red!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 55.72
  • 200 fly – 2:02.76
  • 200 IM – 2:03.20
  • 400 IM – 4:21.17
  • 200 back – 2:01.87
  • 100 free – 51.90
  • 200 free – 1:52.10
  • 500 free – 4:55.37

Livingston’s versatility will make an immediate impact for the Huskers when she arrives on campus for the 2019-20 season. Although her times sit just outside scoring range of the 2018 Big Ten Championships, Livingston has improved significantly and will join a training group that includes Autumn Haebig, Alli Kopas and Izzie Murray.
