NEW COMMIT: The University of Indianapolis has received a verbal commitment for the fall of 2020 from breaststroker and IMer Mason Pomroy of Stratham, New Hampshire.

Pomroy swims year-round with Phoenix Swimming and most recently raced three events at Geneva Futures this past summer after finishing 13th in the 200m breast at New England LCM Seniors. Last winter, he recorded three best times at New England SCY Seniors before going on to finish fifth in the 200 breast at New England 15-18 Age Groups. Also competing for Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, Pomroy won the 100 breast and 500 free at the New Hampshire DII State Championships during his junior season.

He told Swimming World:

“I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Indianapolis! I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches who have supported me along the way! I can’t wait to be a part of this amazing team for the next 4 years! GO Hounds!”

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:00.13
  • 200 breast – 2:09.71
  • 200 IM – 1:59.42
  • 400 IM – 4:09.80

Pomroy will add valuable breaststroke and IM depth to the Greyhounds’ lineup when he suits up for them as a member of the class of 2024. Although he’s just shy of scoring range at the GLVC Championships, he has consistently made improvements each season with just under a year of club swimming still to go before arriving in Indy.
