NEW COMMIT: The University of Louisville has gained a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2020 from Johns Creek, Georgia native and high school junior Adeline Farrington.

Farrington swims year-round with Dynamo Swim Club and owns a pair of U.S. Open cuts with five additional Winter Junior standards. She placed 17th in the 100 breast at Juniors East last month and won both breaststroke events at the Georgia LCM Senior Championships in July. Also competing for Johns Creek High School, Farrington won the 100 breast at the Georgia 6A/7A State Championships during both her freshman and sophomore seasons. She has also earned both NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for her efforts.

She told Swimming World:

“I am extremely thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to swim at the University of Louisville!!! I could not have done it without the amazing support of my friends, family and coaches. I cannot wait to work with such an awesome team and coaching staff. So very thankful and excited to be a baby card #gocards”

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:01.00
  • 200 breast – 2:14.66
  • 200 free – 1:49.96
  • 500 free – 4:54.96
  • 200 IM – 2:02.80
  • 400 IM – 4:18.89

Even with 1.5 years of club swimming to go before suiting up for the Cards as a member of the class of 2024, she would’ve scored in the B-final of the 100 breast and the C-final of the 200 breast at the 2018 ACC Championships. She’ll also join a breaststroke group that’ll include top returners Mariia Astashkina and Morgan Friesen.
