Tucson Ford Notches Meet Record to Win 400 FR

IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 2 TUCSON Ford Dealers Aquatics’ contingent of Courtney Cashion, Whitney Myers, Lacey Nymeyer and Taylor Baughman erased the meet record previously held by Texas Aquatics (3:43.49) by storming to a 3:42.90 from the second of six heats in the 400-meter freestyle relay at the 2006 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships on Wednesday.

Cashion led the relay off with a 56.01, while Myers clocked a 55.48. Nymeyer touched in 55.05 as the third leg before Baughman posted a 56.36 as the anchor.

California Aquatics’ captured silver as the team of Jessica Hardy, Natalie Coughlin, Erin Reilly and Emily Silver touched in 3:43.19. Meanwhile, the Longhorn squad of Katherine Robinson, Tanica Jamison, Samantha Tucker and Mary Beck grabbed bronze in 3:49.25.
