NEW COMMIT: Ohio University has received their first verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Gilbertsville, Pa. native Gabby McKee, who will suit up for the Bobcats as a member of the class of 2025.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to Ohio University to further my academic and athletic career. Thank you to all my coaches and teammates who helped me get to this point. But, especially thank you to my family for their continued support. I couldn’t have done it without you! Go Bobcats!!💚🖤”

A talented IMer and freestyler, McKee swims year-round with Pottstown YMCA / TOPS Swimming and recorded five top-20 finishes at Middle Atlantic Seniors in March 2019. Last summer, she earned five best times at ISCA TYR Summer Seniors where she registered seven second-swims.

Her best times include:

  • 200 IM – 2:05.45
  • 400 IM – 4:31.39
  • 200 free – 1:54.34
  • 500 free – 4:57.60
  • 1650 free – 17:45.53
  • 200 back – 2:02.58

Also competing for Boyertown Area Senior High School, McKee is a four-time Pennsylvania 3A State Championship finalist. She placed fifth in the 500 free and 11th in the 200 IM as a junior while taking 13th in both of those events during her sophomore season.

Even with over a year to go before arriving on campus, McKee will add valuable depth to their lineup in a number of events and her best times already rank near the top of their roster. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 400 IM and 500 free at the 2020 MAC Championships.
