Three-Time NCISAA Champ Granger Bartee Stays In State With 2025 Pledge to UNC

NEW COMMIT: The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill has secured a verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season and beyond from in-state standout Granger Bartee of Charlotte, N.C.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“UNC is a place that I know will be a family to me, and I’m excited to see what the future holds with the program.”

Bartee does his club swimming with SwimMAC Carolina and collected bronze in the 100m free this past summer at Eastern Zone Summer Sectionals in Greensboro. He won the 100 back at North Carolina Seniors during the winter and finaled in six events at Indianapolis Sectionals.

His best times include:

  • 100 back – 47.68
  • 200 back – 1:48.31
  • 100 free – 44.78
  • 200 free – 1:39.14
  • 100 fly – 49.66

Currently a junior at Providence Day School, Granger earned gold in the 100 back and silver in the 100 free at the 2023 NCISAA Division I State Championships. He won the 100 fly and 200 free during his freshman season.

Bartee is a great pickup for the Tar Heels, as his best 100 back time would’ve ranked in UNC’s top five last year while his 100 free would’ve been in the top eight. Carolina finished eighth at the 2023 ACC Championships.
