Texas State Champion Camille Murray Verbally Commits to Louisville for 2024

NEW COMMIT: The University of Louisville has received a new verbal commitment for the 2024-25 season and beyond from Camille Murray of McKinney, Texas.

She will join Caroline Larsen in The Ville as a member of the Cardinals’ Class of 2028.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“Guess who’s headed to the 502!?! Words cannot describe how excited I am to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Louisville! A big thank you to @louisvillesd, @metroplexaquatics, @mcknorthswimdive, and all of the coaches/athletes that I met along the way. I take this next step in life with the joy of knowing that I am dreaming big and betting on myself. I am so thankful to Louisville for seeing me and investing in my dreams. I’m coming to “shake up the world” and we’ll do it together. Thanks again to everyone that has supported me along the way, especially my mother and father whose constant wisdom, support, and guidance has been immeasurable. #GoCards”

Murray does her club swimming with Metroplex Aquatics and recently competed at Juniors West where she won the B-final of the 100 back and placed 12th in the 200 back. This past summer, she earned silver in the 100m back and bronze in the 200m back at College Station Sectionals.

Her best times include:

  • 100 back – 52.99
  • 100 fly – 53.99
  • 200 back – 1:57.08
  • 200 fly – 2:01.07

Currently a junior at McKinney High School, Murray won both the 100 back and 100 fly at the Texas UIL 5A State Championships in 2022. The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American raced to second and third, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.

Murray’s a great pickup for the Cardinals, as her top times already would’ve scored in the C-final of the 100 fly as well as the 100 and 200 back at the 2022 ACC Championships.
