NEW COMMIT: Texas A&M University has received its second in-state verbal commitment for its growing Class of 2027 from Ellis Fox of Lubbock, Texas.

She will join fellow in-state standout Emma Guglielmello in College Station in the fall of 2023.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am beyond humbled to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Texas A&M University! First I’d like to acknowledge that none of this would be possible without the unfailing glory and grace of God, I owe it all to him. Secondly, I’d like to thank my friends, family, coaches, and teachers. Y’all have blessed me beyond measure and helped push and encourage me to be the best version of myself! I cannot wait for the next 4 years under Coach Bultman, Coach Maxvill, and the amazing staff in Aggieland! GIG’EM #roughtoughrealstufftexasa&m”

Fox trains year-round with Lubbock Swim Club and most recently earned five best times at the KMS Pro-Am Classic earlier this month after placing 12th in the 100 fly at Speedo Winter West Championships. This past summer, she finished 10th in the 100m back at West Fargo Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 50 back – 25.85
  • 100 back – 54.75
  • 200 back – 1:57.09
  • 100 fly – 54.05
  • 200 fly – 2:04.69
  • 100 free – 51.30
  • 200 IM – 2:03.24
  • 400 IM – 4:30.16

Currently a junior at Lubbock High School, Fox is already a four-time individual Texas 5A State Championship finalist. She won the 100 fly and finished third in the 200 IM in 2021 while taking second in both the 100 back and 100 fly during her freshman season.
