Tennessee Swim Star Andrew Bree Injured, Out of SECs

ULSTER, Northern Ireland, Feb. 4. UNIVERSITY of Tennessee breaststroke and individual medley standout, Andrew Bree, 21, was injured in an accident recently and will be unable to swim for at least a month, according to a report posted on Insweep.com, a European swimming site.

Bree, Northern Ireland's top-ranked swimmer, sustained a fracture of his right ankle after falling on ice. He underwent surgery yesterday and a plate was inserted in the ankle, according to Inswseep.

The injury will keep Bree from competing at the Southeast Conference (SEC) Championships, where he would have been one of Tennessee's top swimmers. It may also knock him out of the NCAA Championships in Texas in March.
