Tennessee Lady Volunteers Snare Pair of Five-Star Recruits

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 14. THE Tennessee Lady Volunteers made a significant dent into the recruiting cycle this year with a pair ofSwimming World five-star prospects making their commitments for the Big Orange this week. UCLA also chimed in with a five star of its own.

Faith Johnson, whose profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings ranks her with a five-star ranking, will be singing Rocky Top as a future member of the Tennessee Lady Volunteers. Johnson, who trains with STAR Aquatics, is a sprint specialist with senior national cuts in the 50-meter free (25.80) and 100-meter free (56.06).

The Lady Vols also earned a second five-star commitment this week as well as Amanda Carner, whose profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings ranks her with a five-star ranking, will be joining Johnson in Knoxville to swim for Matt Kredich. Carner, who trains with the Coast Guard Blue Dolphins and preps at Menchville High School, is an all-around threat with senior national cuts in the 200m back 2:17.90; 200m IM 2:20.61 and 400m IM 4:52.61.

Katie Kinnear, whose profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings ranks her with a five-star ranking, is headed to UCLA next fall. Kinnear, who swims for the Issaquah Swim Team and preps at Skyline High School, is a backstroke/butterfly threat with senior national cuts in both events: 100m back 1:04.20; 100m fly 1:01.06.

Three-star Seth Lane will be swimming for Iowa next year. Lane, who trains with Fox Valley Wave and preps at Waupaca High School, has a junior national cut in the 100-meter back (59.69).
