Tennessee Gains Verbal Commitment from Versatile Isabella Gable
NEW COMMIT: Greenville, Ohio native Isabella Gable has given her verbal commitment to swim at the University of Tennessee, joining the Lady Vols as part of the class of 2023.
Gable swims year-round with Dayton Raiders and is a U.S. Open qualifier. She just wrapped up a successful long course season, notching four new best times between Futures Championships in Richmond and the TYR Pro Swim Series in Columbus. She has continuously dropped a significant amount of time each season across all events.
In high school swimming, Gable competes for Arcanum and was the runner-up in the 200 free (1:48.93) and took fourth in the 100 back (56.09) at the 2018 Ohio State Championships. She took third in the 200 free (1:51.34) and seventh in the 500 free (5:05.40) during her sophomore campaign.
She told Swimming World:

I’d like to thank my friends & family for their support, the teammates who taught me the importance of having fun, and all the amazing swimmers and coaches I’ve met & built relationships with along the way. - 100 free – 50.71
- 50 free – 23.91
- 500 free – 4:55.04
- 200 IM – 2:04.17
- 400 IM – 4:24.73
- 100 back – 55.43
- 200 back – 1:59.37
Gable can be used in a number of events when she arrives in Knoxville for the 2019-20 season. She will have one year to train with top returning 200 freestylers Stanzi Moseley, Tess Cieplucha and three-time SEC individual champion Erika Brown. Tennessee finished third in the team standings at last season’s SEC Championships.
