Sydney Pickrem Sets Canadian Record with 4:25 in 400 IM

Sydney Pickrem downed a Canadian record in Tuesday’s ISL Match 10, going 4:25.90 in the 400 individual medley.

The time undercuts the Canadian record set by Mary-Sophie Harvey in 2016, at 4:26.42.

Pickrem’s time was her first win in the event and second win of the ISL season overall. The London Roar swimmer has the third-fastest time in ISL this season in the 400 IM. Her previous best was 4:27.37 from Match 8.

Pickrem already owns the Canadian long-course meters 200 IM record and the short-course meters record, set last November. Her fastest time in the 200 IM this season is 2:06.29, two seconds shy of her mark (2:04.34).

Pickrem and the Roar have advanced to this weekend’s semifinals.
