Swimming World Five Stars Chris Manning, Erin Reisinger, Elizabeth Braun Select Colleges

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 9. THE recruiting commitment season is picking up with several more prospects making their final decisions. Swimming World five stars Chris Manning, Erin Reisinger and Elizabeth Braun each made their verbal commitment to a college recently.

Manning, who hails from Brantford, Ontario, Canada, is heading to Auburn University after his senior year. Manning boasts times that would clear the U.S. long course senior national cuts in the 50-meter free (22.82), 100-meter free (50.80) and 100-meter fly (54.87).

"I chose Auburn because of their outstanding sprint program, incredible facilities and excellent coaching staff," Manning told Swimming World. "What stood out to me was the team atmosphere and the sense of family. The overwhelming support from the community is an added bonus! WAR EAGLE!!!"

Reisinger, who swims for the Stingrays and Walton High, will join Manning at Auburn next year. Reisinger owns long course senior national cuts in the 100-meter back (1:02.92) and 200-meter back (2:16.90). She also has short course yard times that would clear NCAA Division I B cuts in the 100-yard back (53.71) and 200-yard back (1:57.14).

"I feel like I had a lot of great schools to choose from, but in the end I knew that Auburn was the best fit for me," Reisinger told Swimming World. "I love how supportive the team is of each other, and I feel like the coaches' personalities fit really well with mine. The campus is amazing! It's a big school with a small-town feel and that's exactly what I was looking for. I can't wait to start working with Brett Hawke, Paul Yetter, and the rest of the coaching staff! I know that Auburn is where I can reach my full potential, and I'm excited to see what I can contribute to the team!"

Manning and Reisinger on the second and third top level recruits pulled in by Brett Hawke this year after the acquisition of six star Dagny Knutson.

Braun, who swims for the Marietta Marlins and preps at Sprayberry High, will also be in the Southeastern Conference next year after committing to Arkansas. Braun is a backstroker with long course senior national cuts in the 100-meter back (1:04.59) and 200-meter back (2:16.20).

"I chose Arkansas for a variety of reasons both athletic and academic," Braun told Swimming World. "Coach Jeff Poppell and Coach Todd Mann have all the qualities I was looking for in a college coach; they are dedicated, personable, share my goals both for the team and myself personally. I absolutely loved the team; they are a great group and we just clicked from the moment I arrived on the campus. Arkansas has great facilities and the dorms are incredible as well. Academically, Arkansas has everything I need to excel in the classroom. Andy Meenan, the academic counselor I met with during my visit, was extremely helpful. I look forward to calling Arkansas my new home and being a Lady Razorback next year! Go Hogs!"
