Swimming World Five Star Woody Joye Commits

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 21. AFTER a couple of days during which recruiting updates were fast and furious in our College Recruit Rankings system, today revealed only a pair of verbals.

Five star Woody Joye became the first high-profile male to commit to the University of Texas. Joy, who swims for the Montgomery YMCA Barracudas and preps at Stanhope Elmore High, owns long course senior nationals cuts in the 100-meter free (51.48), 200-meter free (1:50.94), 100-metr back (58.01), 200-meter back (2:04.83), 100-meter fly (52.98) and 200-meter IM (2:03.16). Joye also has NCAA Division I B cut times in the 200-yard free (1:36.65), 500-yard free (4:25.11), 200-yard IM (1:47.09) and 400-yard IM (3:50.33).

Joye joins an already stellar women's class at Texas. The Lady Longhorns have commitments from five stars Lily Moldenhauer and Samantha Tucker as well as four stars Marylyn Toledo and Catherine Wagner.

Meanwhile, three star John Deedrick joined five stars Mateo De Angulo and Jonathan Taddeo as well as four star McKayla Lightbourn as members of Florida State's Class of 2010.
