SwimAtlanta’s Ella Waters Verbally Commits to Mizzou for 2027
NEW COMMIT: The University of Missouri has secured a new verbal commitment for the 2027-28 season and beyond from Ella Waters of Suwanee, Georgia. Waters is a Futures qualifier who excels in freestyle and backstroke.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“Beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Missouri! I’m so thankful to God for His blessings and for opening this door for me. Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates, and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey, especially Coach Chris Sr., Coach Chris Jr., and Coach Scott, who have played such a huge role in my development. I’m especially grateful to Coach Grevers, Coach Kate, and the entire Mizzou coaching staff for believing in me and giving me this incredible opportunity. Go Tigers!”
Waters, who does her club swimming with SwimAtlanta, finished second in the 1000 free and fifth in the 500 free at the Georgia Senior State Championships back in December. Last summer, she finaled in the 200m back at Ocala Futures.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 22.82
- 100 free – 54.91
- 200 free – 1:53.66
- 500 free – 4:57.88
- 1000 free – 10:21.27
- 200 back – 2:05.81
A rising senior at North Gwinnett High School, Waters placed sixth in both the 200 free and 500 free at the 2026 Georgia 6A State Championships. She also placed sixth in the 200 free at the state meet as a sophomore.
Mizzou finished 10th at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Championships.
