Swim Clinic at University of Texas Raises Money for Hurricane Victims

AUSTIN, Texas, October 3. THE University of Texas men's swimming team and Longhorn Olympic alumni combined efforts with Texas head coach Eddie Reese and junior Garrett Weber-Gale to host a benefit swimming clinic and autograph session on Saturday at the University of Texas’ Lee and Joe Jamail Swim Center to benefit victims of the recent hurricane disasters.

The stroke clinic was available to all swimmers aged eight and above and capable of swimming the length of the pool. Individuals of various ages took part and had the chance to be coached by Reese, an Olympic coach who is regarded as one of the greats in the sport. More than 150 people took part in the event and helped raise more than $3,000 for the American Red Cross.

World Championships team members Weber-Gale and Matthew McGinnis were present at the event, along with Michael Klueh and Dan Rohleder, members of the U.S. World University Games squad.
