PHOENIX, Arizona, December 6. RYAN Lochte has been cleaning up in awards in the past few weeks, but he couldn’t grab the Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year honor. Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski became just the second coach to be given the honor after becoming in the winningest coach in college basketball history.
Nick D’Arcy has filed for bankruptcy in order to stop a court order that would force him to pay almost $200,000 to Simon Cowley for damages resulting from a bar brawl in 2008. Though you wouldn’t think filing for bankruptcy would affect a swimmer’s chances to make the Olympic team, a spokesperson for the Australian Olympic Committee said the organization would take it into consideration.
