NEW COMMIT: Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics’ Claire Lin has verbally committed to swim for Columbia University beginning next fall. Lin is primarily a sprinter. She is a senior at Palo Alto High School.

Her best times include:

  • 50 Free 23.67
  • 100 Free 52.36
  • 100 Fly 59.66
  • 100 Back 1:00.68

At last year’s Ivy League Championships Lin would have been just outside scoring in both the 50 and 100 free. It took a 23.50 to make it back in the 50 and a 51.56 to final in the 100. Lin will join a sprint freestyle group that will be led by Mary Ashby (22.80/49.72) and Jessica Antiles (51.41) who will be juniors next year.

Lin said of her decision,

“As I walked into Columbia University, I just fell in love with the campus and the team’s program. Also, the different academic opportunities were a best fit for me and I could really see myself thrive there in what I want to achieve in the future. I’m thrilled to explore New York City while furthering my athletic and academic career! This wouldn’t be possible without Coach Diana’s, Coach Demerae’s support through the process as well as my club coach, Dana Kirk, my friends and family. GO LIONS!”

She’ll join a Class of 2022 that also includes verbal commitments from Lindsay RispoliYanran Le, Madison Leblanc,  Mary Pruden and Cleopatra Lim.
