NEW COMMIT: Rhodes College has earned a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2019 from Danville, Va. backstroker Sara Kate Reynolds.

Reynolds does her club swimming with Greenboro Community YMCA under head coach Brad Herndon. She is a multi-time YMCA regional-level qualifier and most recently placed second in the 100 back and third in the 100 fly at the VIC conference championships. Also competing for The Carlisle School in Martinsville, Va., Reynolds is a 12-time VISAA State Championships qualifier.

She told Swimming World:

“I’m super excited to announce my commitment to further my education and athletic career at Rhodes College!  Thank you to my family, friends, and coaches for their endless love and support, and to everyone at Rhodes who helped me realize that there is no better place for me.”

Her best times include:

  • 100 back – 1:06.50
  • 200 back – 2:25.86
  • 100 fly – 1:05.26

Reynolds will make an immediate impact when she arrives in Memphis as a member of the class of 2023; her best 100 fly, 100 back and 100 free times woud’ve scored in the C-final of the 2019 Southern Athletic Association Championships. She will also join former club teammates Jon Pulaski and Brannin Webber at Rhodes this fall.
