FEDERAL WAY – Ryan Hoffer, 16, of Scottsdale Aquatic Club, lowered another 15-16 boys’ U.S. national age group record during prelims of the Speedo Winter Junior Nationals this morning, taking .08 off his own mark of 43.13 in the 100 free with a 43.05 today.
Hoffer went out in 20.52 and came back in 22.53 in the record-breaking swim. Tonight, he’ll be chasing Caeleb Dressel’s meet record of 42.85, set last year. Hoffer has already set three national age group records at the meet, lowering the 50 free record twice and then taking down the 100 fly mark.
