NEW COMMIT: Virginia Beach, Va. native Abby Frey has declared her verbal intention to swim for Rollins College beginning this fall.

Frey swims year-round with TIDE Swimming and most recently competed at the Kecoughtan Invitational where she placed 13th in the 500 free. She raced a trio of events at the Virginia LCM Senior Championships this past summer and finished fourth in the 1000 free at Virginia Seniors in March. Also competing for Frank Cox High School, Frey has competed at the Virginia 6A State Championships each of her three high school seasons so far.

She told Swimming World:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at Rollins College!! Thank you to my friends, family, and coaches for helping me along the way! Go Tars!”

Her best times include:

  • 500 free – 5:07.34
  • 100 back – 1:00.57
  • 200 back – 2:08.95
  • 100 fly – 59.37
  • 200 fly – 2:08.97

Frey’s versatility will be extremely helpful for Rollins when she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2023. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 500 free, 200 fly and 200 back at the 2018 Sunshine State Conference Championships.
