Rockhurst Jesuit Wins Missouri Boys High School State Title

SAINT PETERS, Missouri, November 22. ROCKHURST Jesuit High picked up its third consecutive state championship at the MSHSAA Boys State Championships in Saint Peters, Mo., held Nov. 10-11. The team compiled 217 points to hoist the trophy in the St. Peters Rec Plex.

Lindbergh High placed second with 160 points, while Blue Springs High finished third with 156.5 points. Park Hill South High took fourth with 147 points, while Rock Bridge High and Lafayette Wildwood High tied for fifth with 134 points.

Chaminade High senior Scott Jostes notched the only state meet record with a 49.51 in the 100 back. He also went on to win the 100 fly in 49.92.

Two other swimmers also pulled off doubles. Lafayette Wildwood High senior Sean Mathews touched first in the 200 free (1:40.59) and the 100 free (46.30), while Parkway Central High senior Jared Lender won the 100 breast (58.84) and the 200 IM (1:54.41).

In diving action, Hickman High senior Dante Jones edged out Chaminade High junior Kyle Shasserre, 418.2-417.2 for the one-meter title.
