Gretta DeCoursey has given a verbal commitment to Purdue University. The current high school senior is best in the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke events.
DeCoursey swam lifetime bests in both of those while representing Zionsville Community High School at the 2016 OBS IN Girls High School State Championships. Her best times are a 50.73 and 1:04.16, both good for Winter Juniors Cuts. Since 2014, the Zionsville Swim Club swimmer has dropped nearly two seconds in the 100 freestyle. Her 100 breaststroke was a 1:10.00 in 2014.
She also has the potential to make the 200 IM (2:05.74) or the 50 freestyle (24.30) her day one Conference event. At the 2016 Big Ten Championships, it took a 50.17 to earn a finals swim in the 100 freestyle and a 1:02.61 to make it back in the 100 breaststroke. Purdue had one and four swimmers final in those events, respectively.
Huge congrats to @grettad118 on her commitment to Purdue! @PurdueWSwim @swimswamnews #BoilerUp #hammerdown pic.twitter.com/TZwAvHwW6N
