Princeton Gets 2027 Verbal Commitment From Fly/IMer Isabel Wu
NEW COMMIT: Princeton University has secured a big verbal commitment* for the 2027-28 season and beyond from U.S. Open qualifier Isabel Wu out of Sunnyvale, Calif. Wu among the best IMers and butterflyers in her class.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Princeton University! Huge thank you to all of my family, friends, and coaches for their endless and unwavering support throughout the years. I would also like to express my gratitude to Coach Abby and the Princeton coaching staff for believing in me and giving me this amazing opportunity. GO TIGERS!!”
Wu does her club swimming with Santa Clara Swim Club. She most recently competed at Juniors West where she placed eighth in the 200 fly. Last summer, she was a four-time finalist at Junior Nationals, finishing as high as 15th in the 200m IM.
Her best times include:
- 400 IM – 4:12.14
- 200 IM – 1:59.59
- 200 fly – 1:59.61
- 100 fly – 54.32
- 100 free – 51.02
Currently a junior at Archbishop Mitty High School, Wu won the 100 fly and 200 IM at the 2025 WCAL Championship before taking third and second, respectively, in those events at the CIF Central Coast Section Championship. Wu then placed third in the 100 fly and fourth in the 200 IM at the CIF State Championship as a sophomore.
Wu’s best times would already qualify her for the A-final in both the 200 IM and 400 IM at the Ivy League Championships.
