NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Daniel Li of Austin, Texas, has handed his verbal commitment* to Princeton University beginning in the fall of 2023.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am excited to announce my commitment to the admissions process to Princeton University. I’d like to thank my coaches, friends, and parents for helping me through this journey. Go tigers! ??

Li, who does his club swimming with Longhorn Aquatics, is extremely versatile and had four top-10 finishes at Austin Sectionals after earning two best times at College Station Sectionals in March. He also finished 19th in the 200 free and 22nd in the 500 free at Juniors West in December.

Most recently, he picked up a PB in the 50m free at the Phillips 66 International Team Trials.

His best times include:

  • 50 back – 22.59
  • 100 back – 48.74
  • 200 back – 1:47.80
  • 50 free – 20.19
  • 100 free – 45.07
  • 200 free – 1:38.21
  • 500 free – 4:27.08
  • 1650 free – 15:32.93
  • 200 IM – 1:49.85
  • 200 breast – 2:02.77

A rising senior at Westlake High School, Li placed fifth in the 100 back at the Texas 6A State Championships as a junior while taking seventh in that event during his sophomore season.

As of right now, Li’s top times would’ve scored in the B-final of the 50/200 free and 100 back as well as the C-final of the 100/500/1650 free, 200 back, and 100/200 breast at the 2022 Ivy League Championships.
