Prague Cup: Meet Comes to Close
PRAGUE, Czech Republic, June 7. THE final day of long course meter swimming came to a close at the Prague Cup held in Czech Republic.
Jana Pechanova topped the women's 400 free in 4:26.86, while Zofie Kvackova finished second in 4:30.63. Zuzana Popieluchova touched third in 4:37.95.Lukas Jachno followed in the men's 400 free with a 4:05.62. Pavel Picha took second in 4:18.27 with Jan Setvin claiming third in 4:27.50.
Danielle Clinger turned in a first-place time of 1:06.1 in the women's 100 back with Maris Tzon Tsangk (1:06.2) and Doron Osher Levy (1:08.2) completing the top three. Jonatan Kopelev and Yakov-Yan Zurablov went 1-2 in the men's 100 back for Israel in 58.48 and 58.55. Scott Houston finished third in 59.45.
Barbora Falarova earned the women's 200 fly title in 2:26.15, while Kristyna Lukaskova (2:31.05) and Erika Stepankova (2:39.94) placed second and third. Stuart Houston then won the men's 200 fly in 2:03.05. Nimrod Hayet (2:04.50) and Matthew McCusker (2:07.14) snared second and third.
Greece's Maria Michalaka cruised in the women's 200 breast in 2:34.63. Hana Palouskova finished second in 2:37.46 with Corrie Scott taking third in 2:43.31. Douglas Scott paced the men's 200 breast in 2:23.66, while David Jehlicka (2:24.06) and Jan Schoppel (2:24.94) took second and third.
Israel's Anat Zimin dominated the women's 200 IM in 2:23.66, while Aneta Fristcheova placed second in 2:31.63. Lenka Lukasova wrapped up third in 2:33.32. Zurablova earned his second medal of the night with a winning time of 2:08.68 in the men's 200 IM. Denis Gayvoronskiy finished just behind for second in 2:08.79, while Schoppel settled for another bronze in 2:13.69.
Nicol Samsonyk won the women's 100 free in 59.07, while Patricie Majcherova (1:00.19) and Gabriela Kostkova (1:00.69) finished second and third. Scott Houston concluded the meet with a winning time of 52.05 in the men's 100 free. Louri Samouilich touched second in 52.43 with Nir Barnea placing third in 52.70.
