The International Swimming League opened its first season with Day 1 of the first meet in Indianapolis.

Half of the world’s best professional swimmers were in Indy for the meet, represented by four of the eight ISL teams — the Cali Condors, DC Trident, Energy Standard and Aqua Centurions.

Plenty of fast racing from Sarah Sjostrom, Chad le Clos, Florent Manaudou, Lilly King, Olivia Smoliga — and the return of Natalie Coughlin — highlighted the first session.

Swimming World Chief Photographer Peter Bick was on deck alongside Managing Editor Dan D’Addona, capturing images from the historic first day of the International Swimming League.
