Pennsylvania State Champion Brody Reber Selects Michigan for 2027
NEW COMMIT: The University of Michigan has received a verbal commitment for Fall 2027 from Brody Reber of Lititz, Pa. Reber, among the top recruits in the Class of 2031, is a Junior National qualifier who excels in backstroke and IM.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Michigan! First and foremost I want to thank my family for always being there for me and helping me throughout this process. Thank you to Coach Casey for always pushing me and helping me get to where I am today. Lastly, I want to thank Coach Aaron and Coach Matt for giving me this incredible opportunity to represent the University of Michigan at the highest level. GO BLUE!!”
Reber, who does his club swimming with Lancaster Aquatic Club, ghad a great showing at St. Mary’s City Speedo Sectionals in March where he set four new best times, won the 100 fly and had three second-place finishes. He raced six events at Juniors East in December. Last summer, he finaled in the 200m back at Junior Nationals after four top-8 finishes at Middle Atlantic Long Course Seniors.
His best times include:
- 100 back – 47.56
- 200 back – 1:46.43
- 200 IM – 1:47.62
- 50 free – 20.60
A rising senior at Warwick High School, Reber earned silver in the 200 IM and bronze in the 100 back at the 2026 Pennsylvania 3A State Championships. He won the 200 IM and placed fourth in the 100 back at the state meet during his sophomore season in 2025.
Michigan finished second at the 2026 Big Ten Championships and eighth at the 2026 NCAA Championships. Reber would’ve ranked fourth on the Wolverines’ lineup last year in the 100 back, sixth in the 200 back and ninth in the 200 IM.
