NEW COMMIT: Sprint freestyler Chris Guiliano of Douglassville, Pa. has announced his verbal commitment to the University of Notre Dame for the 2021-22 season and beyond.

He will join Max Myers and Owen Grimaldi with the Fighting Irish as a member of the class of 2025.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I’m so proud to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at the University of Notre Dame! Thank you to my family, friends, and all of my coaches who have helped me be who I am today. So excited to see what the future holds. GO IRISH!”

Guiliano, who owns three Junior National standards, swims year-round with TOPS Swimming and finished seventh in the 100 free and 19th in the 50 free at Juniors East in December. Last summer, he achieved 100% best times at the TYR ISCA Summer Seniors where he won the 100m free and registered five additional top-8 finishes.

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 20.53
  • 100 free – 44.29
  • 200 free – 1:35.81
  • 200 IM – 1:50.24

Also competing for Daniel Boone High School, Guiliano is a five-time Pennsylvania 3A State Championship finalist. He won the 200 free and took bronze in the 100 free as a junior and took fifth in the 200 IM and sixth in the 100 free during his sophomore season.

Guiliano would’ve placed in the C-final of the 200 free at the 2020 ACC Championships where the Fighting Irish finished sixth overall in the team standings.
