Penn State Secures 2027 Verbal From Backstroker Lilli Skinner

NEW COMMIT: Penn State University has picked up a new verbal commitment for the 2027-28 season and beyond from backstroker Lilli Skinner. Skinner is a Junior National qualifier from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am super super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Penn State University! I want to thank my family for giving me the most support and always helping me through out my entire swim career. I want to thank my coaches at trident, Coach Sean, Coach Patrick, and Coach Morgan for continuously believing in me and for shaping me into the swimmer I am today. I also want to thank all of my friends and teammates for always supporting and believing in me through out my entire swim journey. Finally, thank you to Coach Hollie and Coach Curl for giving me this incredible opportunity to swim at Penn State!! #WEARE”

Skinner does her club swimming with Trident Aquatics Club. In December, she competed at the NT MAC Holiday Invitational where she swept all three backstroke events. Last March, she earned silver in the 50 back at Oklahoma Senior Championships.

Her best times include:

  • 50 back – 25.50
  • 100 back – 54.75
  • 200 back – 1:59.14
  • 200 IM – 2:09.85

Currently a junior at Broken Arrow Senior High School, Skinner was the runner-up in the 100 back and took fifth in the 200 IM at the 2025 Oklahoma 6A State Championships. She raced to fourth in both of those events at the state meet during her freshman season. Skinner is involved in the leadership group at her school.
