Patrick Keith Will Stay In-State With Verbal to Southern Connecticut

NEW COMMIT: West Hartford, Conn. native Patrick Keith has announced his verbal intention to stay in-state and swim for Southern Connecticut State University beginning in the fall of 2019.

Keith swims year-round with Mandell Jewish Community Center Sharks under head coach Dave Laudati. He raced both backstroke events at CT Senior LCM Championships this summer and recorded a pair of top-5 finishes at 2016 Eastern Zones. He also swims for William Hall High School and has competed twice at the Connecticut State Championships.

He told Swimming World:

“From the moment I first walked on to campus for my unofficial to leaving campus post-official, I knew Southern was my future home. Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way, as well as the team and coaches who have given me this amazing opportunity. Go owls!”

His best times include:

  • 100 back – 55.17
  • 200 back – 2:01.28
  • 200 IM – 2:07.64

Keith will join a talented backstroke group when he arrives on campus for the 2019-20 season that includes Bryce Murad, Ethan Dolan and John Gaudio. Last season, the Owls won their 13th NE-10 Championship crown.
