Olympic Trials Qualifier Tommy Bried Verbally Commits to Louisville for 2021
NEW COMMIT: The University of Louisville has received a new commitment for their growing class of 2025 from butterflyer and IMer Tommy Bried of Powder Springs, Ga.
He will join Ryan Hogan, Eli Shoyat, Murilo Sartori, Lance Godard, Wylie Kruse, John Bossler, Owen Taylor and Luke Shourds in The Ville at the start of the 2021-22 season.
Regarding his commitment, he said:

Bried, who does his club swimming with Ace Aquatic Club, owns the Olympic Trials cut in the 200m fly with three additional U.S. Open standards. He raced to fifth place in the 200 fly at Juniors East in December after finishing 18th in that event at the U.S. Open. Last summer, he won the 200m fly at the Georgia Open before going on to achieve nine best times at Greensboro Sectionals.
Also competing for Hillgrove High School, Bried is a three-time Georgia 6A State Championship finalist. He placed fourth in the 200 IM and sixth in the 100 fly as a junior while taking 19th in the 200 IM during his freshman season.
His best times include:

- 200 fly – 1:46.45
- 200 IM – 1:53.91
- 400 IM – 3:56.20
In LCM, his best times include:
- 100m fly – 56.28
- 200m fly – 2:00.94 **Olympic Trials cut**
- 200m IM – 2:07.00
- 400m IM – 4:31.89
When he suits up for Louisville in the fall of 2021, Bried will add his talents to a fly and IM group that’ll include Greyson Alarcón, Mitchell Whyte, and Haridi Sameh, as well as incoming freshman Dalton Lowe and Aidan Kreiley.
Under head coach Arthur Albiero, UofL placed third overall at ACCs this past season. Louisville finished a program-high fifth place at NCAAs in 2019, surpassing their previous top finish of ninth in both 2012 and 2018. The Cardinals qualified 10 swimmers for the 2020 NCAA Championships.
