Olympic Trials Qualifier Lillie Nesty Verbally Commits to Texas Longhorns

NEW COMMIT: The University of Texas has received a new verbal commitment for its growing class of 2028 from Olympic Trials qualifier Lillie Nesty of Gainesville, Fla.

Her father, Anthony Nesty, is the head coach at Florida and an Olympic gold medalist.

She will join Piper Enge and Campbell Chase in Austin at the start of the 2024-25 season.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’d like to thank my family, friends, and coaches for the endless support through this process. Another big thank you to Coach Carol and Coach Mitch for giving me this incredible opportunity! I couldn’t be more excited! Hook ‘em 🤘

Nesty trains year-round with Gator Swim Club and most recently collected three gold medals at Orlando Sectionals where she reached the Olympic Trial cut in the 200m free and 400m free. Back in December, she placed third in both the 50 free and 200 free at Juniors East, also taking ninth in the 100 free.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 22.52
  • 100 free – 49.38
  • 200 free – 1:45.28
  • 500 free – 4:49.27
  • 100 back – 53.82
  • 200 back – 1:59.26

Nesty is currently a junior at PK Yonge Research School and won the 200 free while taking fourth in the 100 back at the Florida 1A State Championships back in November. She earned silver in the 100 free and bronze in the 50 free as a sophomore.
