Olympic Gold Medalist Joseph Schooling To Release Book Of Photos
Joseph Schooling, a junior at the University of Texas, made history this past August when he became the first ever Olympic athlete from Singapore to win a gold medal at an Olympic Games.
In the wake of his Olympic success Schooling has announced the publishing of a book of photos titled Hello, My Name Is Joseph Schooling. The book will be 96-pages and is expected to be released into major bookstores approximately late next week.
Creating the book was a family project with parents Colin and May lending assistance throughout the process. Photojournalists Alvin Toh and Tay Kay Chin captured the photos, which aim to show the “never-before-seen” side of Schooling and his journey to Olympic gold.
Schooling officially announced the book on Facebook just yesterday on his Facebook page and on the newly created book’s page, titled “The Schooling Effect,” noting that the book has gone to print. The post continues with a statement from Schooling,
A big part of being an athlete means accepting the fact that I will always be scrutinized, in and out of the pool. Having a photographer tailing me for an extended period of time I something I am still trying to get used to, but I believe and hope that these previously unseen images of me, and of the people dear to me, will bring all of us closer together.
He continued on, adding,
Hard as it sounds, I’m trying to put my victory in Rio 2016 in perspective and behind me. Winning my first Olympic gold was very difficult but to win my next one will be even more challenging. The only thing I can do is to train even harder and hope that you will always be there for me.
An announcement on “The Schooling Effect” Facebook page confirmed that there will be a book signing with Schooling in late November.
Swimming World has reached out to Schooling and his family for comments about his upcoming book release.

I am looking so forward to the release of the book, can’t wait to get it!!!
The “trailer” looks like it’s for Mr. Robot. Of course, Mr. Robot is an overrated TV show about taking drugs, crime, hullucinations, perversion, real pretend hacking, and all around evil. None of which relates to Schooling. Hopefully, Schooling will be a worthy role model and supreme swimmer for a long time to come.
