The second day of the Olympic Games will see the first rounds of Diving, women’s synchronized 3m. American divers did not earn a spot in the event this year, and China’s Wu Minxia and Shi Tingmao are heading into tonight as strong favorites.

This will be Wu’s fourth Olympics. She topped the podium along with Guo Jingjing in 2004 and 2008, and then again in 2012 with Hi Zi. Wu is the only woman who has won a diving event three times in a row, and she’s looking to increase that number.

Today they will face off against seven other teams from Malaysia, Italy, Great Britain, Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Germany.

Italy is also sending a veteran team. Tania Cagnotto and Francesca Dallapé missed the podium in 2012 by less than three points. They’re coming off a gold at this years European Aquatic Championships and will be looking to challenge the Chinese team. The Italian women are likely to end up on the podium tonight.

The event will be televised tonight at 7/6c along with swimming and gymnastics.
