NEW COMMIT: Kansas City, Missouri native Chase Kirby has announced her commitment to Oklahoma Baptist University as a member of the class of 2023.

Kirby swims year-round with Club North Swimming – and is a member of multiple club relay records – and most recently competed at Columbia Speedo Sectionals where she recorded a best time in the 50 breast. The two-time Missouri Valley Swimming All-Academic Teamer capped off her summer season by racing four events at Jenks Speedo Sectionals in July.

Also competing for Staley High School as a team captain, Kirby is a four-time GKCS Conference First-Team All-Conference honoree with a combined seven individual and relay titles. She is also a four-year Missouri State Championship qualifier and two-time MSHSAA Class 2 All-State honoree.

She told Swimming World:

“I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at Oklahoma Baptist University! I can’t wait to join such a strong program and be a part of this team. Thank you so much to my coaches, teammates, and parents for all their help and support over the years. Go Bison!”

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 25.73
  • 100 free – 55.13
  • 50 breast – 30.80 (relay split)
  • 100 breast – 1:08.97

When she suits up for the Bison at the start of the upcoming 2019-20 season, Kirby will add valuable depth to their sprint free/breast groups as well as their relays. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 100 breast at the Rocky Mountain Conference Championships where Oklahoma Baptist finished second overall in the team standings.
