Ohio State Gets Three More Verbals: Hudson McDaniel, Lain Weaver, and RJ Kondalski

NEW COMMITS: It has been a busy week for the Buckeyes. Ohio State Swim Club’s Ben Kuriger gave his verbal commitment to Ohio State University on Sunday and has since been joined by club teammate Hudson McDaniel, as well as Lain Weaver and RJ Kondalski.

Hudson McDaniel

McDaniel swims for Ohio State Swim Club and Ashland High School. At the 2017 Ohio High School Division II State Championships McDaniel won the 100 breaststroke. He also finished fifth in the 100 free.

His best times include:

  • 50 Breast 26.52
  • 100 Breast 55.90
  • 200 Breast 2:08.79
  • 50 Free 21.99

Lain Weaver

Weaver will head to Columbus from Madison, Wisconsin. He’s a butterflier at Madison West High School and Badger Aquatics Club.

At the high school level Weaver earned two silver medals at last winter’s Wisconsin High School Division 1 State Championships. He touched second in the 50 free (21.10) and the 100 fly (49.75).

His top times are:

  • 50 Fly 22.60
  • 100 Fly 48.92
  • 200 Fly 1:50.25
  • 50 Free 21.10

RJ Kondalski

Kondalski is another in-state pickup for the Buckeyes. He’s a senior at Sylvania Southview High School where he is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. The backstroker trains with Sylvania Tsunami Swim Club.

At the 2017 Ohio High School Division 1 Championships Kondalski finished second in the 100 backstroke (49.33).

His top times are:

  • 50 Back 23.02
  • 100 Back 49.33
  • 200 Back 1:49.12
