Notre Dame Picks Up 2027 Verbal From Ireland/USA Dual Citizen Eleanor Geraghty
NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Eleanor Geraghty of Medford, Oregon, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Notre Dame. The sprinter will arrive on campus ahead of the 2027-28 season.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to share my verbal commitment to become a part of the rich academic and athletic tradition as a Notre Dame swimmer. Thank you to my family and my coach for all of your support, as well as a huge thanks to Notre Dame coaches Mike, Trevor, and Joao for this incredible opportunity! Go Irish!”
Geraghty, who does her club swimming with Rogue Rapids, most recently competed at Juniors West last month where she was a finalist in the 100 free, placing 23rd overall. She raced to sixth in the 50m fly and 10th in the 50m free at Madison Futures last summer.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.22
- 100 free – 50.14
- 200 free – 1:51.44
- 50 fly – 25.13
- 100 fly – 55.04
- 50m free – 26.47
Geraghty is a dual citizen with Ireland as her father, James Geraghty, is an Irish citizen. As a 15-year-old in 2024, she competed at the Irish Open and Olympic Trials in Dublin and advanced to the finals in all four of her events. Her best finish was a sixth-place showing in the 50m free super final.
Notre Dame competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
