Northwestern Lands Verbal Pledge From Ohio State Champion Lilly Mehok

NEW COMMIT: Northwestern University has landed a new verbal commitment for the 2024-25 season and beyond from Junior National qualifier Lilly Mehok of Moreland Hills, Ohio, who specializes in butterfly.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Northwestern University!! I’d like to thank my parents, coaches, teammates, and everyone that has supported me over the years. I’d also like to thank Coach Katie and the entire staff for supporting me throughout this process and giving me this incredible opportunity. So excited for the next four years! Go Cats!!💜🤍😼”

Mehok trains year-round with Blazing Barracudas and most recently competed at the NCSA Championships where she placed 13th in both the 50 fly and 200 fly as well as 15th in the 100 fly. She raced to 24th overall in the 200 fly at Juniors East back in December and took eighth in the 50m fly at the NCSA LCM Championships last summer.

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 53.88
  • 200 fly – 2:01.37
  • 100m fly – 1:02.57

Currently a junior at Hathaway Brown School, Mehok earned gold in the 100 fly and silver in the 200 IM at the 2022 Ohio State Championships. She finished sixth and fourth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.

She led her team to the state title this past season and was named the Swimmer of the Year.
