NEW COMMIT: Morristown, N.J. native Grace Miller has declared her verbal intention to continue her academic and swimming career at Northeastern University and will arrive in Boston next fall.

A talented freestyler and IMer, Miller swims year-round with Morris County Swim Club and most recently recorded three best times at Geneva Futures this past summer after placing seventh in the 800m free at Rutgers Sectionals. Last winter, she notched six lifetime bests at Ithaca Sectionals where her highest finish was a fifth-place showing in the 200 free.

Also competing for Morristown High School, Miller is a four-time New Jersey Meet of Champions finalist. The NISCA All-American earned gold in the 500 free and took fourth in the 200 free as a junior after finishing second and fourth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to Northeastern University!! I could not have done it without my family, coaches, and friends. Northeastern has a great balance of academics and athletics and I cannot wait to attend next year. Go Huskies!!!!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 free – 51.84
  • 200 free – 1:50.37
  • 500 free – 4:56.09
  • 1000 free – 10:09.42
  • 1650 free – 17:14.12
  • 100 back – 57.56
  • 200 IM – 2:06.68
  • 400 IM – 4:26.28

Miller will be a valuable asset both individually and on relays when she suits up for the Huskies as a member of the class of 2024. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 400 IM as well as the B-final of the 100/200/500 free and placed top-12 in the mile at the 2019 CAA Championships.
